The match was held in Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to bowl first. This is third match of RR, in first match they won against SRH over 72 runs while in second match loses from PBK. Whereas this is third match of Delhi Capitals, and they lose both 2 previous matches.
The opening batmen from RR was Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler. Both player made good start for RR. Yashasvi Jaiswal hits 5 four in first over of the match to Khaleel Ahmed. From other side Jos Buttler also hits three fours in second over to Anrich Nortje. Both player from RR showed their intensions early in the match. Both players made good shots all over the ground. Meanwhile Nortje drops catch of Jos Buttler in 4th over. But after that they were look unstoppable. After 6 overs of power play RR made 68 runs without losing any wicket. After That Yashasvi Jaiswal made his fifty by hitting four to Axar Patel just in 25 balls. But in 9th over which from Mukesh kumar, Jaiswal lose his wicket. He made 60 runs just in 31 balls. Sanju Samson was next player on field, but lose his wicket immediately on 0 runs to Kuldeep. After 10 overs RR score 103 runs losing 2 wickets. In 13th over Buttler hits six to Axar Patel and completed his fifty just in 32 balls. Riyan Parag lose his wicket to Rovman Powell. Riyan made 7 runs. The next player was Shimron Hetmyer. After 15 overs, RR was on 130 runs losing 3 wickets. After that both player hits ball all over ground and move score to 175 runs where Jos Buttler lose his wicket on 79 runs made in 51 balls. By fastest runs from Hetmyer, made 39 runs in just 21 balls, RR score 199 4uns losing 4 wickets in 20 overs. RR gave great target of 200 runs against DC.
Chasing target of 200 runs, the opening batsman from Delhi were Prithvi Shaw and David Warner. Trent Boult had the ball, and he did good start to RR. In first over on successive balls, he sends back Prithvi Shaw and Manish Pandey to pavilion on zero runs. After first over Delhi lose 2 wickets without making any runs. Then next player Rilee Rossouw was on field. David Warner takes charge from one side and started hitting over field. It was looking good partnership between Rossouw and David, but Rossouw lose his wicket on 14 runs to Ravichandran Ashwin. After power play Delhi was on 38 runs losing 3 wickets. The next player was Lalit Yadav on field. Both Lalit & Warner increase the speed of runs. After 10 overs DC made 68 runs losing 3 wickets. But Boult took wicket of Yadav on 38 runs. He made it in 24 balls. So, after 13 overs Delhi were on 100 runs losing 4 wickets. After that David Warner made his fifty by hitting four to Ravichandran Ashwin. He made fifty in 44 balls. But from other side no one was standing in support off David Warner. Wickets were falling one by one. At end David also lose his wicket on 65 runs which made in 55 balls. Finally, Delhi Capitals made 142 runs in 20 overs by losing 9 wickets. And RR took good win against Delhi Capitals.
Match 12: Chennai Super Kings beat Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets
The second match was held in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The home pitch of Mumbai Indians. This is second match of MI. MI lose their first match against RCB by 8 Wickets. Whereas this is third match of CSK, and they lose their first match against GT and won against LSG.
Chennai Super Kings won the toss and decided to Bowl first. The opening batmen from MI was Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan. Rohit hits 2 fours in first over and shows his intensions. Whereas from other side Kishan also played some good shots and increase the Score board. But when MI’s score was 38 runs Rohit lose his wicket. He made 21 runs in 13 balls. The next player was Cameron Green. Kishan and Green moves score to 61 runs in power play of 6 overs. But after that Kishan lose his wicket on 32 runs made in 21 balls. The next player Suryakumar Yadav also lose his wicket easily on 1 run to Mitchell Santner. Green also lose his wicket to Jadeja on 12 runs while playing big shot. Arshad Khan also lose his wicket immediately on 2 runs. After 10 overs Score of MI was 84 runs losing 5 wickets. Tilak also lose his wicket to Jadeja. He made 22 runs in 18 balls. Jadeja took 3 wickets in his 4 overs and just gave 20 runs. MI’s players were struggling to get runs. Finally, in last overs Tim David & Hrithik Shokeen played good shots and move score board. David made 31 runs in 22 balls whereas Shokeen made 18 runs in 13 balls. Finally, after 20 overs MI was on score 157 runs losing 8 wickets.
Chasing target of 158 runs, opening batman from CKS, Devon Conway lose his wicket early on 0 runs in first over. But next player from CKS was Ajinkya Rahane. Rahane showed his intensions while playing. He started attack on Bowlers of MI. He played shots all over the ground. He just made his fifty in 19 balls. He made fastest fifty runs in this IPL so far. After power play of 6 overs CSK score was 68 runs losing 1 wicket. But he loses his wicket on 61 runs made in 27 balls to Piyush. Shivam Dube was next player on field. While from other side Ruturaj Gaikwad also moving Score board of CSK. Both player made some good shots and moves the score to 125 runs in 14 overs. But this time Shivam Dube lose his wicket on 28 runs. Ambati Rayudu was next player on field. Both player played safely and moves towards the target without losing any wicket. Finally, CSK wins by 7 wickets remaining 11 balls. CSK made good win over Mumbai Indians. Ravindra Jadeja (4-0-20-3) was the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his brilliant spell of spin bowling.
