Day 6: Punjab Kings beat Rajasthan Royals by 5 runs
Hello everyone, Welcome again here. We take a look on day 6 match between Punjab Kings Vs Rajasthan Royals, Where PBK beat RR by 5 runs.
The match was held in Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. Punjab kings were won their first match against KKR by DSL rule by 7 runs, whereas Rajastan Royals were won their first match against Sunrisers Hyderabad by 72 runs. Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson won the toss and opted to bowl first.
The opening batmen from PBK was Shikhar Dhavan and Prabhsimran Singh. They gave good start to Punjab. Prabhsimran Singh started to attack on RR bowler’s. He played shots all over field. PBK made 63 runs without losing any wicket in power play of 6 overs. In 8th over Prabhsimran Singh completed his fifty just in 28 balls. This is his first fifty in carrier of IPL. But in tenth over PBK lost their first wicket in the form of Prabhsimran Singh. Prabhsimran Singh got catch from Buttler. He made 60 runs just in 34 balls. After that Dhavan continues the momentum of runs with Jitesh Sharma. Meanwhile Shikhar Dhavan completed his fifty in 36 balls. Then Jitesh Sharma lose his wicket on 27 runs made in 16 balls, Where PBK were made score of 158 runs in 15.4 overs. Then Shikhar Dhavan played some good shots and made 86 runs just in 56 balls and finally PBK made 197 runs by losing 4 wickets in 20 overs, where Dhavan remain not out on 86 runs. PBK gave a good target to RR of 198 runs.
Taking target of 198 runs, opening batman from RR was Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravichandran Ashwin. Jaiswal hits six run on first ball from innings of RR to Sam Curran. But he loses his wicket on just 11 runs made in 8 balls by Arshdeep Singh. The next player Jos Buttler, dropped by Harpreet when he was on just 5 runs. Ashwin was the second wicket of Arshdeep Singh, where he made zero runs. Then Sanju Samson comes on field. Then both batman hits good shots in the field and speed up the score board. But Jos Buttler lose his wicket on 19 runs made in 11 balls. In power play of 6 overs RR made 57 runs by losing 3 wickets. Sanju Samson gave speed to score board with Devdutt Padikkal. But Samson lose his wicket on 42 runs made in 25 balls. At this time RR were made 91 runs on 4 wickets in 11 overs. The next batman Riyan Parag speeds up the score with Devdutt Padikkal. But in 15th over, Bowler Ellis got 2 wickets. Both Riyan Parag and Devdutt Padikkal lose their wicket on 20 runs and 21 runs respectively. After 15 overs RR were made 124 runs losing 6 wickets. Shimron Hetmyer and Dhruv Jerel were the new fresh batman on field. But after 16th over both batmen increase speed of runs. They played shots on all over field. In just 21 balls they made partnership of 51 runs and made the match in interesting mode. In 19 overs RR were made 182 runs on 6 wickets. But in last over, ball was in Sam Curran’s hand, and he did good work for PBK. He just gave 10 runs in over and got wicket of Shimron Hetmyer for PBK. Finally, PBK won the match by 5 runs.
